IV. Roleplaying: A How To Guide

Roleplaying ! Me again. This is supposed to be a literate site. Personally, I'm a lazy son of a gun and hate typing up lengthy posts. I'm sure that you have your off days, too. But don't you hate it when people say, "Well, if you have no muse, then don't post," and then that person you're roleplaying with is bugging you to post and you're so torn because you have to reach a certain amount of words and you just can't think of anything? Been there, done that. Well, this isn't a guide on how to get your muse back or get it riled up. It's just how to roleplay. Sidenote: When the text is in this color, it means that this is supposed to be me. When the text is in this color, it means that this is supposed to be another player. One of the key major things of roleplaying. DO NOT POWER PLAY. This is where your character seems to act out another player's character, such as: Ora grappled with Fye, pushing her arms against the ground and controlling the other girl. Yeah, no no. It's not fun for the other player and is just an annoyance. The only time when you can power play is when the other player GIVES YOU PERMISSION. If not, then word your posts to where it also gives the other player some control in the situation, like this: Ora grappled with Fye, feebly attempting to push the other girl's arms against the ground. Fye was able to slip one arm out of Ora's weak grasp, aiming to scratch her nails across Ora's face. Easy enough? If you catch a player powerplaying your character with no permission, warn them that they are doing this, just in case they could be unaware that they are even powerplaying. If they decide to ignore your request, then ask a staff for help and we will change their post and give a warning. Another thing. Spelling. I know that not everybody is fantastic with grammar, but there is a little nifty thing called spell check. Chrome has it and Microsoft Office has it and it's really nice to use. So please, try not to have too many grammar mistakes. Bullying In-Character. Being IC is completely different than being Out Of Character. Being OOC is when you (as in you, yourself) are talking freely and don't have to use the roleplaying template. Being IC is well, roleplaying your character. If another character bullies your character, THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE. That's how relationships happen on this site. But if you straight call someone (the player) an idiot or a rude name such as that or anything else, THAT IS CONSIDERED BULLYING and you will either be warned or banned. I'm sure that some of us (if not all) have been bullied and we come here for a sanctuary, not another hell. Making fun of someone is a serious situation and will lead to serious consequences.
